Dark vs. Light Exterior Paint

When it comes to home improvement projects, we often seek options that look the 'Best,' but we don't always consider the benefits.  The color of your siding could end up costing you. When choosing your siding color, look at your area's average temperatures. If you live in an often hot place, using a lighter color option is best. Doing so can save you energy over time as the color of the paint is likely to attract the sun if using a darker color. When living in a cooler area, it is best to use darker paint as it will attract the sun and keep the heat inside.
